As a child, I
loved school. During the summer, I would often play school with my siblings at
home. But since my sisters were older, I never got to be the teacher. Even after
growing up, leaving home, going to college, and getting married, I waited until
my own sons had graduated from high school before I taught in the classroom full
time.
My two sons attended Kent schools from kindergarten through high
school. They went on to college and have both earned their Master degrees. I am very proud of them!
My oldest son recently moved from Colorado to Houston, Texas where he teaches
high school English. My youngest son is an associate pastor at a
church in British Columbia, Canada. My husband supports and encourages me
constantly. He rarely complains about late dinners during the school year and
cheerfully takes on the yearly task of adjusting all the classroom desks to the
correct height.
When I'm
not at school, I love being outside--walking, hiking, riding my bike, or working
in the yard. Most of my traveling is to visit family. (The picture is of my
family on Grouse Mountain in BC in August, 2009.) I
keep close track of the Mariners and Seahawks but I am an Apple Cup neutral.
Please provide me with a schedule of your team's games and I'll try to attend
one.
